River Crest Hospital (a UHS facility):

River Crest Hospital is a modern, 80-bed psychiatric hospital, specializing in the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders that can afflict individuals of all ages, from children and teens, to adults and the elderly. We provide acute inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and addiction treatment programs. We are located in San Angelo, Texas. Position Summary:

The Nurse Manager (functions as the Infection Control / Nurse Educator) is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Infection Control Program, assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance and reporting, and providing technical support and education for the hospital staff. The Nurse Manager is also responsible nursing staff education and training, and for the employee health compliance program. The Nurse Manager also functions as the Nursing Educator and is responsible for assisting the CNO/DON in evaluating; reviewing, designing and implementing hospital training events with respect to all RN/LVN/MHT staff required training. 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required. Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in nursing, or related health field is preferred. Master’s Degree preferred. Combination of education and experience considered.

Experience: Four (4) years of experience in quality and risk management/improving organizational performance within an acute medical or psychiatric treatment setting.

Additional Requirements: A strong knowledge of JOINT COMMISSION, state of Texas standards, CMS standards, and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
